I thought we decided that LAST month?

How many times have you been to a meeting and when a topic comes up, confusion reigns?  Why? Everybody thought that was already decided! Nothing has changed but now it feels like (and often is) a big waste of time to revisit the topic.  We suspect office politics are involved, and we are tired of it.

This is called a Lack of Commitment.  It’s not about how hard you work; it’s about your commitment to a decision.

Imagine your competitors having efficient, effective meetings; making decisions; executing strategy; while you revisit the past and make a solid commitment to…..have another meeting!

It’s the leader’s job to create clarity and closure about the decisions that are made in the meeting.  Without that, execution will not begin.  Why give your competition an edge because you fell for the trap of revisiting a decision? You may choose to revisea decision but revisitinga decision over and over demonstrates a lack of clarity, closure, and Commitment
